In Ancient Greece, sex between men (often transactional) was normalized, but bound by status: freeborn Athenian men could not legally sell sex or be penetrated without losing citizenship rights. In other words, people go by what feels most comfortable to them.

We often about straight guys going gay for pay but what does it really mean? Not comfortable sharing what we do though.

If you’ve read City of Night by John Rechy, you’ll have a picture of what “gay rights” looked like in the late 1950s and early 60s. Nothing to see here. The crowd was mixed in every way: sexualities, genders, races, professions and, if I’m honest, criminal backgrounds.
My crew was mostly gay men, one or two straight guys, and a straight woman I’ll call Lissa.
“Brokeback Mountain” released on Dec. 9, 2005, and the ripples it sent into the queer community can still be seen today, 20 years later, in the work of depressed TikTok editors everywhere. Although “Call Me By Your Name” is a fundamentally queer story, two heterosexual men play the lead queer roles, with both Chalamet and his co-star Armie Hammer identifying as straight men—for all we know.
Countless of these straight actors, many of whom have portrayed queer characters in the past and gotten recognition for it, have come out in support of this phenomenon. I’ve never felt anyone like him since then, male or female.” That’s not just a rave review; that’s praise.
